Well, I'm an American graduate of Cornell University here in Australia
taking some time off
before going back to the States to get a "real" job. However as I want
to stay here for at
least a couple of months and don't have a whole lot of money, I'd like
to find someplace to
settle for about two and a hlaf months and get a job to support such an
endeavour. So if
someone reading this email can somehow forward it to whomever they
thought could be of some
help to me I'd greatly appreciate it. I am currently in Brisbane
staying at a hostel in New
Farm and want to head where there's possible work, I'm thinking the Gold
Coast, Sunshine
Coast, or possibly, if necessary, Cairns or some other major city. I
want to do any kind of
work really but I don't have any kind of work visa so it'd have to be a
cash in hand or
similar occupation. I'm in good shape and am not averse to doing some
form of hard labor but
I would like to enjoy my stay here in Australia and not work myself to
the b!
one. So if ANYONE can assist me in this matter I would GREATLY, GREATLY
appreciate any
assistance, adive on where to go or who to talk to, or warm regards.

graduated with an
Agricultural and Biological Engineering degree and have worked in

knowledge of working out and
am first aide and CPR certified and do work out a lot at home to keep in
shape for the
athletic activites that I enjoy like soccer, runnning, and lacrosse.

We are ex-Habonim Australia and ex-Kibbutz Yizrael members
living in Israel since 1957. Like many others we are looking into roots and my Parents
Max(Mordechai)& Hanna Simons were members,respectively in the "Tarbuth" org., Poalei
Zion(Labour Zionist)movement,WIZO IN Sydney during the 1930's thru to the 1950's. I have a
vague memory as a young boy of going with my Father to somewhere in the Harbour where we went
up onto a M.T.B. boat and my father was speaking hebrew with some healthy young men, this was
around 1946/47 (I think)and years later I heard stories claiming that the australian community
helped the Hagana aquire W.W.2 SURPLUS ARMS. I would appreciate any further infgormation on
all of the above.

Against Racism on the Net.
The growth of hate sites on the internet is one of the least recognised dangers of the world
of communications technology. While governments and the churches are voicing their concerns

government forums about hate groups that are using the internet to recruit new members.
Alan first came across internet hate groups while he was researching his latest novel, Berlin
Song. ‘I was writing a book about how Nazism grew and took hold of Germany in the Twenties and
Thirties. During my research, I had to look up the recent phenomenon of neo-Nazism. When I
began to see the way in which the original Nazis used techniques of mass communication, lies,
propaganda, distortions of truth, and offering false hopes with simplistic promises, I came to
realise that in seventy years, almost nothing has changed.’

relations - the middle east in Year 12. Seeing as almost all my
students are from main
stream Christian religion and a minority Asian religions and Muslims,
they are always
fascinated with the a study of a religious group that is so
encompassing of people's lives
(ie that being Jewish is an everyday practice - a culture with language,
diet, celebrations
etc - not just a once a week thing or once a year- though there are some
Jews that would fir
into this catergory I am sure) I would like to know of a place where I
can ask questions
about Judasim as the student's often want to know why something occurs
and I don't know.

great grandmother and her family visited the Great Synogogue regularly.
I was searching through your site and found information on the Great
Synogogue in Sydney. My
great grandmother's family ran a tea house - restuarant in Hyde Park in
the late 1800's.
Their name was Moss. My great grandmother's name was Ettie. My husband

I am 45 years old and am married with two children, Tamara, who is 26,
and Simon, who is 24
and married. I have recently discovered I am Jewish by birth, and want
to find out all about this new religion called Judaism. If any one can direct me to web
sites or give me the names of books they think would help me in my study of judaism, I would be
very thankful for any information that you have.
I was not raised Jewish, as my Grandmother, Hannah Israel, married a
catholic and bought all
her children catholics, including my mother. I was also raised a
catholic, but renounced it
some 20 odd years ago, and have been searching for the true God and the
true religion ever
since. I have only recently found out I am Jewish by birth, amd studing
Judaism at the
moment. I'm not sure I want to be one of these orthodox Jews, as I
don't think I could ever keep all the rules as strict as they do, so am looking for a group of
women who can help me understand what it means to be a Jewish women in 1999.
I have been told that both my children's names are of
Hebrew origin. I find it quite fasinating that I would give my children
Hebrew names when at the time, I did not know I was Jewish by birth.
Hope you can help me in any way. I live just
outside Rockhamptom in Queensland, Australia. There are no Jews where
I live, or at least none that I know of.
